This is a problem I've had for 2 years now. I even stopped playing the game because of it. I'm not going to bother uploading my pc stats because I've seen this problem on more than one computer. The pc that I'm using currently does have up-to-date drivers and more than enough hardware to push this game on max settings. I am running the game over a 5 mbps cable connection and I've tried bypassing the router on more than one occasion.

The issue only occurs in multiplayer games (regardless of video settings and player count) and my punkbuster is up-to-date.

I tried working with EA tech support on this but they had no answers for me.

ps. The examples that I posted aren't the only symptoms for this issue, they're just the easiest to point out.

  • There is an issue with AMD Dual Core processors, causing increasing lag and finally connection lost.

You have to assign only a sinlge core instead of two.

To do that start the task manager select 'processes' -> righ click on bf2.exe-> set belonging and unselect a core (no matter which one).

    Hope it helps

  • EA online just sucks, every EA battlefield game(including the consoles) has this problem, eventually, EA will fix it, but it takes for ever---They don't have dedicated servers.

  • Did you ever fix this? my single player also plays fine. (no lag at all) but multiplayer lags bbbaaaddd!!! I have punkbuster up to date. i have a four core 2.00 cpu. I also can play mw2 in low settings with no lag. so i know its not that this game is to hard core for my system. I hear it might be punkbuster that is doing this. its making the lag,but I have look for hours on end. and cant find away to solve this. can anyone help me please??

  • @ForTGamez Nope sorry, you have to do it each time you start the game.

  • @Gimbogehirn

is there a way to make it perm? instead of doing it every time

  • u can't drive any thing ??!!!!! that sucks for me :(

  • @Gimbogehirn Didn't work unfortunately. IDK what my problem is. i gave up :/

  • @gabrocki I guess it will, as it helped SethMcCoy and me. Just try it out and look if it becomes better for you.

  • @Gimbogehirn I have an AMD Athlon x2 6000+ and I do experience lag, but not FPS lag. It appears to be a connection problem BUT my download speed is 45Mbps and i have no problems in other games....

Should that method work for me?

    Thanks in advance

  • @Gimbogehirn thanks dude helps alot

  • I tried to set off one core and switch more memory priority for battlefield 2 but it does not help. Fuck that. I tried everything i know. Set low details, switch off unnecesarry processes, turn off firewall, but does not help.
