This is called the Irish Rover, actually. The Wild Rover is a different song. There are so many of these songs that have really similar titles or lyrics, it gets confusing.

Amazing - I had heard on a WRI broadcast that Robin Williamson was performing in Dublin, and I wished that I could have witnessed it -- I get on to YouTube and what do I see ? Magic

Many thanks Lushiko. The number of times I have made that mistake though my life even though the tunes and lyrics are very different, though both are swing your pints and sing along drinking songs. Personally I just don't like Wild Rover but I still find Irish Rover is fun. Best of all I like Andy M. Stewart's Ramblin' Rover, but that's not Irish :-)
