A short video showing my Rover 5 chassis, plus some Rover 5 FPV!
This is just a test run of the basic chassis mods.
There is MUCH more "coach work" to come.... :-)
It is powered by an Arduino Mega, with Sparkfun XBee, GPS and Monster Motor Shields.
On top of those is a DFRobot prototyping shield that has a Pololu LSM303DLH 3D compass and accelerometer.
The GPS is an EM-406 and the XBee is a Series 1, XBee Pro 60mW, 2.4Ghz.
The video camera is a digital wireless Tx/Rx pair, on 2.4Ghz.
The camera/receiver has no problem with XBee, Bluetooth or WiFi.
But it's only about 4 frames a second.
It has a heap of IR LED's for nighttime use but they are pretty hopeless outside.
This unit is great indoors @night, but the field of view outside is pretty limited.
