  • That's pretty advanced for the mid 80's. But, I have a feeling that cars with that feature were probably in the shop for repairs often.

  • @asteph2607 Because Renault was near on bankrupt at this time and did not have enough money to adapted enough the models for US market. The Renault 9 and 11 were good cars in Europe and reliable but the transformation of this car for the specification for the US market made this models not reliable. In 1987 the new president of Renault decided to sell the branch AMC to Chrysler and decided to concentrate the activities in Europe and decided to built better quality cars.
