  • Vents were from BCF (boating, camping & fishing). If you don't have this brand store around then try a marine retailer.

  • That's a pretty cool irrigation system you have set up their :-) excluding the bins how much would a simple setup like that run for? I've recently started worm farming for the purpose of selling the worms as well as using their compost in my organic garden and have an interest in setting up an irrigation system somewhat similar to yours, I would appreciate any advice or tips you might have :-) thanks again to keep up the good work

  • Thanks for the positive comment. There isn't all that much to the set-up, and the costs are minimal. I think that the whole thing cost me about $600 including the tanks, and took about a day (with lots of thinking space breaks) to complete.

Since doing that I have moved and am now working on an equivalent system to cover 12 acres. This will cost a little more... :-)

However the biggest 'issue' I had with the previous system was that the sump pump I used should have had an integrated float.

  • Is the slotted irrigation pipe in the bottom of the tank just one loop or is it coiled to cover the bottom?

  • Where did you get the vents from mate?

  • wow, I started a worm farm for my scraps for my garden. I have to say.. you're my hero!!! Love the chickens in the background. Quite a nice sustainability set up have! Thanks for sharing.

  • Thank you for taking the time and effort to share your worm farm. I cannot figure out the drainage system you described. How do you drain without losing worms and prevent the drain from getting clogged? Also, do you have to avoid using your castings in a system that large? Thanks again for sharing your worm composting operation.

  • Fantastic!

  • That is a really nice set up

  • Hi

How many worms can you grow throw system like this? Are you growing baite worms?

  • As far as calling this a simple way to do vemicomposting I'm calling Shenanigans since I've seen and made ones that cost all $10. However this system is Pimp. I've never seen an automated one. This is awesome
