  • The first track distinctly, as well as some nuances from the other tracks, have convinced me that this OST might've been worked on by the same person who did Lords of Thunder (Groove King, was it?). There are certain tracks in Lords that sound strongly like the first track here.

  • Seems like it's a different composer, but from what I've read, the band playing is the same one used for Lords and Gate of Thunder. You've got a pretty good ear, if I say so myself.

  • Thanks! ^_^ I kinda have a weird knack for picking up on and finding similarities in music and voices. I drive my friends nuts sometimes. lol.

I'm glad to know that I was right about the band at least. Did you happen to find out what band it was? There's no likely chance of me finding them, but I'll still try. :P

Two other PCEngine OSTs that sound strongly the same (and may even actually be the same composer) are Dungeon Explorer 2 and Cotton: Fantastic Night Dreams.

  • I remember reading about the band on a forum quite a while back, and the only thing I remember is that they worked on a bunch of PCE games. I'll let you know if I ever come across more info.

  • Like Chris Rea would say, "I don't know what it is but I love it".

I loved Lords of Thunder and the music in this game seems to share some beats and riffs here and there. I'll bite.

Thanks for letting me know of this game's existance.

  • who can?

  • one of the best videogame soundtracks ever, and an amazing game ,if you cant afford or unwilling to pay silly money then emulate

  • I could never bring myself to spend $300 to $400 to acquire this game for my Turbo Grafx Arcade CD system. It has a rocking soundtrack on par with similar shooters for the same system, most notably Gate of Thunder. Awesomeness from the best 1st generation CD game console ever.

  • Fuckin' metal \m/.

  • That would be really awesome and I absolutely appreciate it. There's just something about the way their style that I've loved ever since Lords and Gate... I've been curious about what else they've done, so Sapphire was a pleasant surprise.

Keep up the awesome work. You're my VGM hero. :D
