British seasons (or series) tend to be shorter than American ones, and can run for less than 13 episodes. I think you highlighted the show really well- good review!

This show was funny, but it wasn't worth keeping longer than one season. I think a made for tv movie based on this show would be awesome.

i just remember finding out there was only 5 episodes and feeling disappointed if you mash all the episodes together you pretty much have a 2 and 1/2 hour movie :) thanx for the comment and rating

The reason why there wasn't more than 5 epesodes was because Dean Lerner had to dump a load of film in the Thames when the police raided his flat.

I really wish more were made. I've watched them all and it's my kind of humor. I love the first 5 min. of epi. 1( with the cat). Oh God, too funny!

There are 6 episodes. In Britain a season is 6 episodes... This is because British shows usually have a much smaller budget.

Darkplace originally recieved poor ratings because it was originally aired late on friday nights when most people are out getting drunk. It's beyond me how Channel 4 completely overlooked the potential of this show, it was their fault for giving it a bad slot in the first place.

5 episodes is a season! I mean is you compare it to those shows with really long series you'll see the difference in quality. Quality over quantity obviously.

might boosh is fairly shit in comparison, it got so bad after the 1st series. IT Crowd ever is very good.

Snuff Box is by far my favourite though.

If you like DarkPlace, check out the Mighty Boosh when it comes on Adult Swim on Sunday-- that is great as well. Richard Ayoade is on it, and great friends with the creators of the Boosh, and so is Matt Berry. I love it. And check out the IT Crowd-- Both Berry and Ayoade are on that as well, along with Noel Fielding of the Mighty Boosh.

in british comedy series, the usual contract is for six episodes, some will get eight like the mighty boosh in there first series

"She's the nurse"-that's the joke right there. She's actually a doctor but they don't treat her like one 'cos she's a woman.

It was good seeing this. I always find it interesting to see which British shows end up stateside and what you lot think of them
