@vivelhistoire I think Erika Miklosa was her name. Not 100% though.

Who played the queen of the night in this production? I'm curious to find a video of this scene...!

nice rendition! but what an AWFUL dress!!!!

I can't help but notice that the while the singer has a slight accent when she speaks--it's gone when she starts to sing. In fact her diction is incredible! English is harder to sing than German. She manages to sustain those flowing legato passages and nowhere does sacrifice the clarity of her beautiful tone to the remarkable clarity of her lyrics. When so many pop singers mumble through their songs, this shows you can sound good, be dramatic, and still be understood.

I love Dorothea Roeschmann's version better but she is good too.

sooo beautiful !!!

She is such wonderful opera singer! I love her magic voice! Beautiful!

it would sound better if she sings it in German. Anyway she has a really good and soft voice.
it's Ying, not 'Yin' - right?
i think she is amazing, in this aria it's hard to 'beat' Popp or Janowitz, but besides her and Damrau, how many nowadays singes can actually sing?!
her 'reganva nel silenzio' (look for it here) is, by clarity of tone and expression, the closest to, no less but, that of Moffo!

Search "Magic Flute DVD" and scroll down. For me it comes up as #11. The cover has Papageno and a bird on stilts. :)
