I don't think this song is religious, actually. I think it's more of a general moral standing statement with people. That there's good in everyone, you just need to look at them in that sort of light.

This song isn't about religion, but uses the name "God" (as well as other terms used in the music video) as personifications for faith in humanity.  Maybe you should listen to it before you go berserk.

The groove and vocals @ 2:56 must be a homage to African Bassist (Richard Bonna) "Legend" Wow. Backing vocals @ 4:55 onwards really well fitting Victor.
