@ThomasDeanNordlum Hey buddy, you too huh? ;-) I immigrated to Toronto myself. Luckily under Canadian law loans can be discharged after 7 years. Hope they dont find either one of us though. To hell with that government! Good luck!

High school counselors should be giving this information to students instead of telling them to go to college. Student loans are the black holes of personal finance. They are the event horizons of money--you will never get out of debt. After you graduate, employers won't care how much debt you have--if you're not young enough or good looking enough you won't get the job.
