In this short video above we'll show you a sample (of what you get in our VIP course) masking strategies and short cuts that are used in the automotive body repair industry.
When it comes to paint jobs and masking you have a few choices and it all depends on your end goal. What kind of job are you looking to complete for you or your customer? and if performing a job for a customer, what are you charging?
Masking is a very important step in the process of painting a car. You basically have 2 options.
1. You can leave most of the parts on the car such as the headlights, taillights, windows, mirrors and mask them up like most body shops do if they're working on a averaged priced paint job or frankly too lazy or don't care to take the parts out.
In this business you really get what you pay for and on the flip side to that coin you deliver what your customer wants.
In this business there are many different type of guys to please... some want the MACCO job, some want a better job and others what the best they can get. Those who want the best pay for it.
2. Your second option is: If you're doing a complete restoration, or just want to do a good job... you can go all out and completely strip the car so you have little or no masking to deal with. This is the way to do it if you want a PRO finish paint job. You'll also be able to charge top dollar to complete these kinds of jobs for customers.
You can learn how to do all of this yourself and save a TON of money while learning an Awesome skill-set!
