Music by Lamb; Drawings by Joyce Nefkens; Photo's by Space Hubble... I just love this song.

Lyrics:
There's no one here today
'Cause someone took the light away
There's nothing in my heart
Don't think I could even start to explain
I can't stand the pain of losing something so much a part of me
Though in reality you were hardly there in my heart, in my heart
You were everything, everything
You were everything, everything

In these few hours a breath of summertime has turned to winter rain
In such little time all my hope has gone
Will it ever be the same
All I ever wanted was to see your face
To see a little smile from my little one and let
You know, and let you know
You were everything, everything
You were everything, everything

Babe I did all I could just
To give you life
I'd have done anything
Just to give you life life life liiife

Out there in the dark your little spirit is lost without a home
Oh don't be afraid I'm thinking of you, no you'll never be alone
Someday, somehow, when the time is right
May an angel smile upon me and give you life
To give you life
I'd give everything
I'd give everything, everything
I'd give everything to give you life
To give you life
To give you life to give you life give everything
I'll give everything give everything
I'll give everything

  • I love this song...but I am trying to decipher what the song is truly about...@ first I thought that this song was about abortion...That may not be the case & maybe it is more about a condition of the heart with a close friend or boyfriend/girlfriend...In that way this song is an exposition on interpersonal relationships

  • I also thought of someone losing a baby for whatever reason... but I agree it could just as well be about a relationship...

  • @remjoyce this song was suggested me and I was told it was about losing a child??

  • The first time I heard this song a decade ago its sadness resonated within me, but it never even occurred to me that I would get to experience the pain even more powerfully. After two miscarriages, and trouble getting pregnant, I choke up every time I hear this song (and that's not often, because I can't bear to play it). This just goes to show that regardless of how much you think you understand a situation, living it brings on a whole new perspective.

  • does anyone have any sheet music for this?

  • all i ever wanted was to see your face

    see your little face

see a little smile from my little one

and let you know you were everything

    so sad....

  • @remjoyce

yeah I think its about a miscarriage or something---"I did all I could to give you life" doesn't sound like an abortion to me. sounds like she wanted to keep the baby.

  • @RedFrostIndustries I think it is about abortion or a new baby - I found out my son and his girlfriend are expecting a son on 6/1. He recently became incarcerated on 3/21 and now she's alone and addicted and trying to stay clean. I have had this CD for a long time and I kept thinking this song is for the new baby coming.

  • It's about Lou Rhodes losing her own baby. They talk about it in an interview in an issue of Future Music magazine.

    Beautiful regardless.

  • @remjoyce She said one time in a concert where I was tha it was about a friend of her who lost her baby
