Fixing the Last Corner of the Gear Shift

In this video I show a rare case in the Gear Shift where the Big Corner needs to move either 1 or 3 cogs.

This case is actually unsolvable. The only way to get to this case is to make the puzzle move unnaturally.

I've had many people ask me how to do this so instead of answering everyone individually I made this video.

how do you get it into an unsolvable position, surely any way you scramble it, it'll be solvable no matter what

@roryos It will only get to that position if a cog had skipped while you were playing with it. Once I gave it to someone they accidentally got it to pop in two directions like I did at 1:18. Then they accidentally made the puzzle skip. But if you do a normal scramble you would never get to this position.

Thanks to this video and your another video, "How to Solve the Gear Shift", I could manage to solve my Gear Shift. Normally I don't like to jump to the solution of any Mechanical puzzle. And so, I've not solved any classic Rubik's cube like 3x3x3 cube.

But this twisty puzzle is really attractive to me. For the duration of 1 to 2 weeks ago, I had already got it solved for several times. However, for unknown reason, after that I kept failing
