Yes, he was born near Shreveport, spent most of his adult life in east Texas (except for when he was incarcerated in Angola, La.) and then died in New York. His connection to Louisiana was the purpose of this comparison.

Hey, that's really good ! Thanks for posting this. What a great choice of a song to cover. When I was in elementary school I first became fascinated by it. It has wonderful rhythm doesn't it ?
Can I ask if that is a Bon Cajun or Bon Tee Cajun accordion ?
