Start of the NASCAR Supertruck Series presented by Craftsman, Pizza Plus 150 @ Bristol International Speedway.

The race was delayed a couple hours due to rain.

Several drivers had to go to the back for missing the drivers meeting:
#3 Mike Skinner (qualified on the pole)
#84 Joe Ruttman (3rd)
#16 Ron Hornaday (8th)
#7 Geoff Bodine (9th)
#1 P.J. Jones (10th)
#29 Bob Keselowski (19th)
#51 Kerry Teague (20th)
#87 John Nemechek (27th)

There are two #6 trucks, as Rick Carelli and Mike Chase drive identical trucks. Chase was a late entry and was supposed to get the #62 instead of #6, but the 2 wasn't applied before the race started.

Jerry Glanville (#81) is on pit road before the race begins, complains of a possible broken shock.

FIRST CAUTION:
Carelli crashes in turn three.

  • sammy swindell i didnt know he did a little pavement back in the day

  • he raced the full 20 race schedule in 1995 and finished 12th in points, but never made another start - his best finish was in this race, 4th (his only top-5)

he also made 2 Winston Cup races (best of 30th at Riverside, 1985) and 10 in Busch Grand National (best of 12th, Daytona, 1984)

  • Jerry Glanville the Atlanta Falcons Coach from back then.

  • that sure was him

he made 27 truck races from 1995-1999 (most of them in '95) as well as 6 Busch series races (3 in '92 and 3 in '93)

  • now that i have a better set of video programs, i will be doing so

dont know if it will be a whole race like this or clips like the Busch race i posted, but we will see more by week's end!

    thanks for watching and commenting!!

  • This is the way the trucks should look and the tracks they should run on.

  • The Chevys and Dodges looked awesome back then! Gotta love NASCAR of any kind. ;D
