My 5th Vlog - this topic was requested by a viewer, and I found it interesting. This is also a response to an episode of Speak Out. Why is there division between Filipino immigrants and Americanized/American-born Filipinos? What causes a Filipino to become Americanized?

you may have loved the filipino accent but when you're being laughed at and mocked by the way you speak and your accent what would you feel....not al but most fil-ams may find it funny but to other its offensive...just imagine trying your hard to be understood and would just be laughed at in the end...thats why i think there's an animosity between filipinos and fil-ams..we welcomed them, they laughed at us..

I'm sorry but I was thoroughly distracted by what I think was Hawak Kamay playing in the background.

I just want to say that we should remember that almost all Americans/Canadians were immigrants in some point of their family history. People from Germany, Ukraine, Russia, France, England, Poland, Spain, etc that immigrated to the US/Canada slowly but surely became more American/Canadian with every generation. What makes us Filipinos any more different from that? That's my opinion, please respe

Wait, tell me again why people can't be Filipino-American? People can be Irish-American, Italian-American, Chinese-American...but not Filipino-American? Why do you people insist that you can only be EITHER? I'm both, and I am proud of America and the Philippines. Rant ends here.
