Karen tagged along with me to a herding clinic. Karen was supposed to be studying. Karen adopted a dog at the herding clinic. So this is Karen's (and Pippa, then Patches), first time working sheep. Heck, first time really working with a dog, for Karen...

The first clip is Karen, shortly before realizing there's no way she was walking away without the dog. The guy in the clip is Karen's husband, Tim. Tim really wanted a dog, and showed up from work just "to watch the clinic" when he heard Karen was considering a dog. Uh-huh.

Karen loves border collies, and yes, that is Reef screaming in the background. Karen likes Reef and OFFERED TO WATCH HER. This immediately qualifies Karen for owning a border collie. To be fair, Karen met Caper first, pre-Reef, and this might have biased and blinded her.

Pippa was found as a skinny and tick-infested stray in North Florida.
