UPDATE: They say all publicity is good publicity, but I honestly can't believe this video is actually encouraging people to look at this game.

PLEASE, PLEASE DON'T BUY THIS. If SEGA/Sonic Team want to make money they should produce decent games, and if we give them the impression they can make money of nonsense like this they'll keep doing it. End result? More poor games.

So, what's wrong with Sonic Genesis for GBA (other than the slowdown, the horrible soundtrack and the dreadful physics)? Here's a short vid to give you some idea of how buggy this game is.

  • Sooo, SEGA screwed up Sonic the Disaster so fucking badly, their aura of failure actually bled over to a PORT of the ORIGINAL game.

    Awesome. /facepalm

  • Lack of blast processing is the cause of all of these problems.

  • i think one of the developers said that they were forced to remake it in the sonic advance engine instead of just emulating the original

    so derp

  • @TheCongressman1 No, I know that. I meant this shitty GBA port. I HAVE played the original.

  • @MegaChowderfan No, man. The original doesn't have these problems. This is a terrible port job Sega did recently. You should definitely check the real one out sometime.

  • @toddmilhouse

It was ported to the PSP along with Sonic 2 with the Genesis collection.

  • 0:13 and 0:17 How the fuck did Sonic lose his rings when he didn't even touch anything dangerous? And why does Sonic keep getting stuck in several places throughout this video? Was Sonic Team even TRYING when they made this godawful GBA port? Apparently not, since one random hacker working by himself managed to make an infinitely more impressive GBA port than they did.

  • It should be shameful to Sonic Team that a SINGLE PERSON WORKING ALONE (the same creator as of the "Knuckles in Sonic 1" hack game) made his own homebrew GBA port of Sonic 1 (covering only the first level, though) that worked better than the official one. Seriously, one amateur (not in skill, but only because he's not "official") beat an entire team of "professionals" at their own game, literally!

  • To think I wanted this game when I was little...

  • In case the description is serious about people wanting to get this after watching...please don't. I've had the misfortune of actually trying to play it. I wasted so much time trying to deal with the constant glitches and general suckage of it. Please, for all that is decent and holy, STAY AWAY FROM THIS PORT.

If you don't listen, though, then I'm confident that if you manage to beat it somehow, you can play anything with ease.

  • The iPod port was better than this.

    The IPOD port.

    What the everloving fuck?
