  • Nice, I double dare you to find a cuss word in anything I've posted. I'm playing here anyone can see that...Loved you with the VU but heard you were dead.....

  • Lennon & McCartney rightly get acolades worldwide. Mcgowan was a tremendous song writer and doesn't get the recognition that he deserves.

  • LOL, especially since you can't spell his name:)

  • Ya know, people here are making bad comments about France.I rode my mountain bike thru that beautiful country, and the people(outside of Paris) were great.Kind, and Courteous when I needed a bit of help. I wear a little France patch on my touring jacket, and one for each other country I rode through as well.No one ever says anything bad about my little French flag.I love France! ----------------------

to fifilafrance-You dont have to hide w ho you a re,kid,..be as proud as any Irishman is.

  • Their dancing together just slays me, even if the cameraman TOTALLY IGNORED IT.

  • its fascinating how someone so drunk and wrecked still sound so god damn awesome when he sings....

  • @dazzzer why would you think he was English ? he is Irish an english man could not write a song like the fairytale of New york.

  • Nobody can ever replace Macgowan or Kirsty at singing this, any attempts have failed. . .

and please stop saying "mcgowan" its "MACGOWAN" :)

  • @eerawb Shane classed himself as Irish right enough - but if you look at the facebook/myspace pages of most of the Pogues they mostly identify themselves as English or British. Kirsty was English. Her father was Ewan MacColl who wrote Dirty Old Town. He was of Scottish parentage but was born and brought up in Salford, England. Salford is the dirty old town being sung about in that particular song.

  • I just love these old videos, where Shane looks all happy after the first chorus of Fairytale of New York, like he's so amazed by the fact they pulled it off that well. =) that kinda got lost along the way...

  • McGowan the best.......cheers from to the Greece

  • i´m from EL Salvador, i´m the only one who knows this song, i´m a piper and i lived in Scotland, this song is the best in the world, Mcgowan is a great songwritter as a psicologist i say it´s sad what happend to him but is the best, there is not better Christmas song, god bless ireland and Scotland....
