Beartones International Competition - Academic Spotlight

Missouri State University cultivates excellence in all of its students through challenging academic programs, a community oriented public affairs mission, and outstanding student groups.

The Beartones, an all male a capella performance group at Missouri State, have entertained and delighted audiences since 2001. Since that time they have competed in national, regional, local, and international competitions.

This past March the Beartones won the regional at Northwest University earning them a spot in the Varsity Vocals International Championship of Collegiate A capella. At the international competition in April, the group used its twelve minutes to perform tunes from the Eagles, the Beatles, and Little Big Town. Their performance earned them third place internationally.

Tonight we are proud to honor Samuel Skibby, President of the Beartones, along with other members of this award-winning group. And on the court to congratulate the Beartones is Missouri State University President Mike Nietzel. Ladies and gentlemen, please acknowledge the accomplishment of the Beartones at Missouri State. They are in the Bancorp South Academic Spotlight.
