An Original Song By The Wallace Brothers Called "The Ballad of Archie and Gini" Performed at Peaceful Valley Orchard in NJ.

Copyright Oct 2009

Back when young lovers stuck together
came a couple of lovers like few had ever seen
Archie was a farming boy from Kempton.
Gini was his queen from Berks County

She said "no" everytime he asked her
Archie was stubborn, just like his Dad.
He got sent away to the army
The letters he wrote home made Gini sad.

Chorus:
Two young lovers lord
You can't split em up lord
You can offer them all the money, they don't need any
Out of the farms and fields of Berks County come two young lovers, Archie and Gini.

When he got home, she ran up to him and kissed him
He took her hand and led her out of town
They thumbed their way all across the country
Even hitching a boat, they were ocean bound.

Somehow they sailed all the way to Kansas
Archie dug until he hit it big.
The got married in a park by hippies and strangers.
GIni made a room up for a kid.

Chorus:
Two young lovers lord
You can't split em up lord
You can offer them all the money, they don't need any.
Out of the farms and fields of Berks County come two young lovers, Archie and Gini

Gini got called home by her mother
They're living back in Kutztown once again
Back when young lovers stuck together
Came two young lovers, Archie and Gini

Chorus

  • Hey bro, do you get these kinds of gigs alot?

  • Well, specifically we don't get gigs just like this, but we do conistently get odd gigs. I can't remember playing at a farm before, but we probably have. These gigs are random, but because of them, they do fill in the gaps. Some odd ones we have done are school cafeterias, old age homes, retiement parties, birthdays, weddings, fundraisers, etc. If you need some advide on getting gigs, contact me privately and I will give you whatever info I have learned.

  • What instrument does the guy on the right play?

  • It is called a pedal steel guitar.
