Haitian student Rooldine Lindor Raped and Murdered in the Dominican Republic on July 12, 2011. The murderer Eddy Mendoza was arrested by Dominican police. He is now in custody. The Haitian Students in the Dominican Republic are shocked by the barbaric murder and rape of Haitian student Rooldine Lindor,which occurred on Tuesday, July 12, 2011. Rooldine Lindor was studying computer science at the University of Technology of Santiago in the Domincan Republic. The Dominican man who allegedly raped and murdered Ms. Lindor has been arrested by the Dominican Police. Eddy Medoza allegedly raped and killed Rooldine Lindor after tricking her in to renting her an apartment for 18, 000 Dominican pesos, equivalent to 500 US dollars.

La communauté estudiantine haïtienne en République dominicaine est sous le choc, après l'assassinat par un Dominicain de Rooldine Lindor, une étudiante Haitienne de 20 ans en Génie informatique à l'Université technologique de Santiago (UTESA), le mardi 12 juillet 2011. Selon le GARR, Rooldine a été violée puis assassinée à Hipodromo, zone orientale de Santo Domingo, après avoir été dépouillée de 18 000 pesos (US$500) devant lui servir pour la location d'une maison. Son "locataire-meurtrier" est sous les verrous.


Selon notre interlocuteur, Eddy Mendoza, l'assassin présumé, a été arrêté le mercredi 13 juillet à Boca Chica par la police dominicaine et aurait déjà répondu à plusieurs questions en rapport avec l'assassinat de l'étudiante. Il a donc été appréhendé alors qu'il s'amusait en compagnie de trois Dominicaines.

Lindor ha sido detenido por la Policía dominicana. Eddy Medoza mató a Rooldine Lindor después de engañarla en al alquiler de ella un apartamento para 18, 000 pesos dominicanos, equivalente con 500 dólares americanos.

this is a tragic story. may she rest in peace. but it couldve happen to anyone, it just happen to be her. this is notunique to dominicans because i was in my home in cabarete last week and heard news that a swedish tourist was murdered by a haitian man while visiting impoverished village, or the girl who was dragged and raped by a haitian man who tried to cut out her eyes afterward. lets not sensationalize this and turn this into a dominican vs. haitian thing.
