A quick review and some sound clips of the Acoustic 260 Bass Mini Stack. first, sorry about the old strings on the basses (anywhere from 2-6 yrs old...yikes!) I just used the camera mic, so it gets a little distorted sometimes with the low end.

My wife bought me one in March of this year for my birthday, so I could have a little practice amp around the house, since I hadn't plugged in my Trace Elliot for more than about 10 minutes over the last 6 years.

100 Watts RMS @ 4 ohms with a 1x10" cabinet (4 ohm) and pretty lightweight. It has a nice low end for a small amp. Good for practice around the house--Rehearsal? Depends how loud you (and everyone else,) is going to get... Gigs? Again, depends on what you're tyring to do with it. A couple acoustic guitars and bass in a coffe shop? Sure... A little jazz trio in a restaurant? Maybe...

Either way, just like with anything--plug into one and let your ears and experience decide!

enjoy!

  • I see the extra slot on the bottom, is that for putting a speaker there in the future or is that not possible?

  • @BoomBoy13 Unfortunately, Nope. The slot at the bottom is a port for the enclosure to tune the low frequency reponse of the single 10" inside. You might be suprised at how well it does for just a single 10" though. If you're seriously needing to knock down walls or break up gall stones, you're going to need a bunch more than 100w and a couple 10"s though.:) In that case, you'd be better off going with a higher powered rig with multiple cabs instead. Thanks much for watching !!

  • great review. ive been looking for a better bass amp for the practice space than the one i got now and this seems perfect. how do you think this amp is compared to an ampeg 100w because i was lookin at one of those too.

  • @deathheadproductions It's been a while, but the last time I played through one of the 100w Ampegs (single 15" combo,) I remember it to be a good sounding amp. A 15" is typically going to have a different type of sound than a 10", especially depending on the volume you're playing at, your EQ settings. This amp will take up less floor space than the Ampeg and should hold it's own with it-- though it's always best to take a listen for yourself first, to see if it suits your tast and playing style

  • Nicely done review!

  • Hahah, "moderately sane drummer". Love that expression. Great review!

  • would this amp be good for some metal? i play an epiphone thunderbird if that helps.

  • @ubertuber57 hey, i've got a 100 watt peavey combo amp and was thinking of getting one of these acoustics. are they good, or should i save up for the bigger stack.

  • Sounds amazing! I just got the B200H and im excited to put it to use.

  • I want that bass! I don't know if you did a cover for Led Zeppelin's Ramble On, but there was agreat cover with someone using that desingtive color of bass in the video.
