@APyleOfVinyl Well I purchased it from Amazon.com so if it turns out to be a dud, well then, my friend, no harm, no foul! I can easily make an exchange or return. But I'm hoping it is good. I'm looking for a warmer sound than I've been getting with my Signet, as well as the the several AT's I used previously, among which included the AT95E and the AT411E. I don't want to go the MC cartridge route just yet so I'm hoping the Shure works out. It may very well arrive tomorrow, so wish me luck!

I actually just ordered a Shure m97xe for my Technics SL-D202 based on the sound I've heard watching videos at your channel.
How do you like your Shure? Some people seem to like it others think it's ho-hum. I always like to try things for myself before I decide. I actually have a high end Signet cartridge right now but I wanted to buy a new cartridge rather than spend mucho bucks on a replacement stylus. A new cartridge sounds in a nice brushed aluminum case sounds like so much for fun!

@djs259 I honestly love mine, however I only have used Shure M92, Audiotechnica AT3482P and a Numark Groovetool before this. Compared to the aforementioned trio, the Shure M97 ranks 100 times over that. The sound is even across the board with little noise and distortion. I did have an issue where the stylus fell off the cantilever after six months of use (which even on my crappier cartridges did not happen). However Shure replaced the faulty stylus with no issues.

@APyleOfVinyl My theory is that people get poor styluses with their M97 because I noticed a slight sonic improvement after my stylus was replaced. I noticed that my first one sounded a trifle muffled compared to my new one.
