We now see an exercise that involves both holding strides and forward strides. George does not mention it here, but he stresses that, you must get the distance early and soften. That means both forward and holding distances.
Here we see Jamie come down and go back up the line triple bar/planks/planks in six and four and four and six. Then the line is ridden five and three and three and five. Coming back down the line you will notice the triple bar jumped backwards. It must be stressed that these exercises were strictly supervised and set by George. This is a jumping clinic and the horses had been well warmed up. All but one had the triple bar down, (Stuart Tinneys eventer, Panamera). The horses must learn to watch the fences and think for themselves.
