from "The Mystery of Edwin Drood" -- a musical based on the unfinished Charles Dickens novel of the same name. It is written by Rupert Holmes, and was the first Broadway musical with multiple endings (determined by audience vote). Holmes received Tony Awards for Best Book and Best Original Score. The musical won five Tony Awards out of eleven nominations, including Best Musical.
The recording is from a community theatre production at Fourth Street Theatre in Chesterton, Indiana, directed by Allen Horner with Musical Direction by Deb Porter. This is my performance from an evening where I was elected to be the Detective (which, actually, happened a lot during the run of this particular production!) It was quite fun to play this particular role!
