Ruby Hinds sings the cabaletta to O Mio Fernando at a tribute to Doris Roberts at the Wilshire Theatre in Beverly Hills, CA. Note that although there is a mike in front of her, it was turned off for this performance. Once she started, the sound people realized she didn't need amplification. Also, notice the Leyla-esque note about 1:00 into it.
De très grande qualité !!! vous gagnez a être connu !!

Why is everyone trying so hard to criticize and talk about what she could do better? I'm sure Ms. Hinds was a great singer. But this is just comedy. Sit back and enjoy.

She's ruined her voice because she started singing arias too heavy for her too soon. Therefore, you could fit a mac truck inbetween her vibrato. She is holding on to too much weight in her lower registers which also causes MUCH of her problems. There should be some finess to chest voice and there is none here. Get thee to a good teacher.

The the word Ciel....the eh vowel is too spread...just round it out a bit to the front. I like your energy ....good job

I think if she brought her lower and middle registers more to the front it would help her high notes...She has a great gift.

Actually, yes quite a bit. So lets examine this clip then shall we? Her transition from chest to her mid register is muddy, and has intonation problems, examples of this can be found throughout the clip. She also over does the chest voice occasionally. And her high notes occasionally are pinched and final note goes flat.
