Soaking up the atmosphere - music and cider - at the Square Fair - an annual stone carving festival at the Square and Compass, Worth Matravers, Dorset, UK. There are stalls selling preserves, cheese, vegetables, books, jewelry, etc. and a great line up of bands playing on the outdoor stage. The landlord, Charlie Newman, is the 3rd generation of the family who have run this quirky old fashioned stone flagged pub for over 100 years. There's a good choice of real ales and ciders drawn straight from the barrel - I found the Sit Down Be Cider a very acceptable brew. Excellent crowd - wonderful atmosphere. Brilliant Afro dub band Soothsayers rounded off the evening. (Video of band used with permission)
This was Saturday August 2nd. The stone festival lasts over a week starting on the Wednesday (I think) before the first Saturday in August... yeah, it's one of mine too.
