'Twas The Night Before Christmas: A Final Christmas Sing-along with Jack Carey (12/26/2011)

Beloved retired Encina High School (Sacramento, CA) choir teacher Jack Carey held his final Dec. 26th gathering/singalong of the signature song "'Twas The Night Before Christmas". Former choir and madrigal students joined Jack at his home at Carlton Plaza in Sacramento to sing the classic and share how Jack had positively impacted their lives. God bless Mr Carey. Although I did not take his class, he let me in the room whenever it is not in use just to bang on the piano keys or played the guitar. Those moments developed into the musical interest that carries with me through all these years.

what a delightful video. I didn't have Mr. Carey for a teacher but enjoyed many of the choir presentations throughout my years at Encina. It is good to see him leading songs and looking well. It is heartwarming to know he got married two years ago and has someone to share his days with. Thank you for sharing this with all of us. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Thank you for making this great video Kerry.  I was planning on coming, but our dog decided it was the end of the road for him and it was something I had to deal with. Such great memories come back as I watch this video. Mr. Carey was one of the most supportive people I know. What a wonderful person. Thank God for people like Jack Carey. I only wish all kids could have someone as caring touch their lives.
