Exquisite performance by Canadian Gerald Finley (baritone) and London-based Julius Drake (piano) of St. Ita's Vision, composed by Samuel Barber, part of the collection of Hermit Songs Op. 29 (1953). "A setting of Irish texts from the eighth to thirteenth centuries, written by monks and scholars, often on the margins of manuscripts they were copying or illuminating - perhaps not always meant to be seen by their Father Superiors...""

  • Absolutely exquisite! Surprising to hear this sung by a man, but Finley is so subtle.
