This is my newest piece, entitled /virus/, for tuba quartet and audio/video playback. This work was written as a collaboration between myself and the resident tuba quartet at the University of Northern Iowa, the FunderCats. The first performance of the piece was given at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research in La Crosse, Wisconsin, on April 16th, 2009. The piece was included as part of a presentation entitled "Combining modern multimedia composition and the tuba quartet", given by Aaron Hynds, (myself, for those interested!) The performance in this video was recorded on April 23, 2009, in Davis Hall on the campus of the University of Northern Iowa. Hope you enjoy!
Nerdy tech stuff: audio part created and manipulated with Cubase SX 3 and Ableton Live 7.0.1. Video shot on a Panasonic PV-D300D and manipulated in Sony Vegas. Samples taken from an old electronic organ, maker unknown.
Quality work!! Most impressive and 'on the edge'!!!
