Well, here is a revised video. I added a clip from a commercial our advertising team had put together, but had to go round and round about the audio clip they had used with Youtube, so I just redid it.

I finanlly had a chance to put one of our modded Stage 3's on the Dyno.... We got some great numbers!
The impressive thing is we gained about 50rwhptaking us to 520 at the wheels, but the real gain was torque! Almost 100lbs gain!!
Give me a call or shoot me an email! I have a ton of these in stock!

  • 2 ppl are dumb

If you are refering to the 2 dislikes, that is typically competing dealerships. They often think they can dis their competitors videos in an attempt to discredit them. Unfortunate., it doesn't work. ; )

  • @jtrischler,

Since there is often confusion about the different power measurement specs, would it be possible to post a short response video (or edit this one) to show the graphs in SAE with smoothing set to 5?

Or, silly as is, show the dyno sheet in SAE, but list the numbers in a few formats, including BHP, PS and KW if you consider/desire an international audience.†

† Yes, I'm an IT fellow (programmer). :)

  • @ra3ta You may be tempted to argue that the settings are not de facto, and that SAE and smoothing 5 is the accepted practice. While that may be, it doesn't in any way mislead; those that argue this commit fallacy.

Its merely different systems of measurement. One wouldn't proclaim liar to another who chose to use celcius or kelvin to measure temperature, or grams opposed to litres or gallons to measure fluids.

  • @ra3ta It wasn't "just a tune." As the video points out, it consisted of a few bolt ons: pulley, belt, throttle body, tune. The nearly 100 tq gain is intriguing though, I admit. But I don't see any foul play or misleading info here.

If you are complaining about the settings used, that is just part of it. If you would like it in SAE just multiply by .96. No big deal. The smoothing is nothing magical, either. It merely normalizes the graph. Smoothing set at 0 is technically MORE accurate.

  • @9b8

I would say pathetic. To the point of false advertising. They (Roush) advertise and sell a kit based on X power. The tune provided comes up ridiculously short. Case in point is the video itself..... They claim 50 hp and almost 100 tq at the wheels, correct? From just a tune????

  • @ra3ta I wouldn't say pathetic. You must keep in mind that the Roush tuning is taking a very conservative safe side, where they measure failure events in the millions. That is a stark contrast to after market tuning, where its usually about squeezing out as much power as they dare, in cases testing the limits.

On another note, Roush as an engineering establishment has an excellent rep. that spans brands. They are often summoned to "correct" engineering/design problems in brand X.

  • Put the dyno settings on SAE and smoothing 5 and watch the numbers drop. The Roush calibration is so weak, it's pathetic.

  • i wonder , any plans for 2013 stang??

  • Wow if you picked up that much from a tune thats impressive!
