  • Student loans aren't scams, they are what they are... College it self is the scam, going to college for four years spending $40k on a business degree is a scam

  • @Braveslion If you take out student loans as opposed to just paying for college outright, you could end up paying back at least 5X the amount that was originally borrowed. And it is just just outrageous how you can not declare bankruptcy on these. Why should this kind of unsecured debt be so much more special than any other kind. Why don't we just re-institute debtors prisons while we're at it. And yes, college itself is a scam too.

  • @MatthewKenney Gee.. I dont know maybe DONT buy into the BullS*** that you have to go to school and get a 4 year degree to be succesful... therefore you DONT have to take out loans, and DONT have to worry about paying them back... I went to a trade school for welding, it Cost me $3258.77, I paid that outta pocket, now i make $29.87 hr....SO again College is a scam

  • @Braveslion And that's the problem. A lot of people do or did buy into the BS, myself included. They really do drill that in your head when your high school. Not everyone is a good critical thinker. It has to be re-taught to some people due to immense brainwashing. And to you and everyone else out there, if you have not fallen for the propaganda, more power to you. I seriously wish I would have known that back then.

  • @Braveslion

LOLThat depends on the business degree! I would go into debt 60k in student loans just to go to havard's BA in business program if I got in. I wouldn't even bother going to University of Phoenix if it was free.

I will be applying to harvards MBA program soon. It is a crap shoot as to whether not I will get accepted but if I get in I will go into debt 100k if I have to.

29.87 an Hour for welding? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA That is not that much money.

  • @FutureCACPA $29.87 an hour! I could seriously live like a king with that kind of money!

  • Other that loaning money, why would you loan if you don't have a job at the first place? I learned that as a mistake thank God I applied to a community college for $3,000 I can pay that after I gradute my two years. My job as a CNA I earned about $18 an hour picture this I am 18 just graduated from high school, I still live with my parents, can afford to buy a used car, able to support myself financially, and in one year I'll have about $100,000 I don't have no debt other than my school loan.

  • Thanks so much for sharing your experiences!

  • A bit rushed. I'm certain a few people will comment on your lack of public speaking ability. The message is what counts though, and that message was simple and to the point. Couldn't agree more, voted upwards.
