Pushpa was only 13 when her mother forced her to drop out of school and get married. She was 14 when she had her baby, and today at 15 her health - as a child mother - has suffered, and she finds looking after her baby very difficult. And Pushpa's case isn't unusual. In six Indian states, the average age for marrying among rural girls is under fourteen years. Both the young mothers and their babies suffer from this early childbearing. Some mothers and babies die, and as many as one Indian baby in three is born with low birthweight (under 2.5 kg) - a handicap that remains with them for the rest of their lives.

  • If you're living in a country where you're starving, then for God's sake, don't be having sex and bringing more children into the world!

  • @Shokara2 i dont care where you live, this is not about you

  • @Shokara2 you, i'm talking about them in the vid and people like them...i dont kno you so i'm not talking about you duh

  • @stealth592 Ok first of all... you can't tell ANYONE to stop having kids... espcially when I have never had a child in my life. Second of all I have three college degrees so while your GED might make you feel impressive... it isn't going to work with me. Excuses? I don't make excuses. I see both sides of the issue which is something you should really try to do, you might just learn something. Oh and btw did you make such a rude comment thinking that I'm Indian? Just curious...

  • @theoneandonlyolya Oh yes... and we live on a farm. We produce our own power, have our own well, grow our own food, raise our own chickens, and are as self sufficient as is possible these days and we do it as organically and Eco-friendily as possible! What do YOU do?

  • @theoneandonlyolya Wow... You think I have kids and sell them? FYI: I have worked since age 15 too. I have also never had a child. My husband and are are planning on adopting. There are too many kids who need homes as it is. I really dont know what your complaining about.

  • @stealth592 i don't blame corporations, i blame the system. we have a system that has a need to create false demand. do you really need that ipod? do you really need that new coat? do you really need those new shoes? because i assure you that there are people out there with real needs. but our system does not favor filling real needs before false needs and so it creates false needs. that is capitalism, the movement of goods and services for good for ill or for nothing at all.

  • @M3di3v4L Yes. Give them our money so they can have more babies, repeat, repeat, etc. etc. etc. etc. forever!

  • @Shokara2 Stop having KIDS! What kind of education do you need to figure that one out ? Stop making excuses

  • @Yesica1993 Obviously you are a liberal ! lol (jk)

  • @theoneandonlyolya You are right! They are backwards and we have to listen to this garbage and feel sorry for them? STOP having monkeys!
