Severn Valley Railway Santa Specials 03/12/11

Saturday 3rd of December dawned sunny and warm, so the decision was made to venture to the Severn Valley Railway to see the intensive Santa Special service the railway puts on...and we were not disappointed!
After a hectic rail journey to Kidderminster (involving 4 different train journeys in under 2 hours, which is difficult with 2 bikes) we were greeted by sun, steam and spectacular conditions upon arrival.
All crews gave their engines spectacular performances in the winter sunshine, which resulted in one of my most memorable days on the SVR (when the sun played ball).

42968: Bewdley Tunnel, Trimpley Reservoir & Northwood Lane
43106: Falling Sands Viaduct, Victoria Bridge
5164: Bewdley Tunnel, Northwood Lane & Dowles
7812 Erlestoke Manor: Foley Park & Dowles
80072 (visiting from the Llangollen Railway): Trimpley Reservoir & Foley Park
