What's it going to take to get Rypdal to play in Atlanta? My budget isn't limitless but I'd pay a pretty penny to hear him live. I've been a fan since the 70s. But Rypdal never lets me turn into a fossil - although I could certainly pass for one. Thanks so much for decades of great music TR!

sky50, Thanks for posting this. Being a fan of Mirlsov Vitous, I did not know about this DVD. Nothing short of stunning. Watched it twice back to back, but I couldn't get past the ASSHOLE in the flowered shirt in the first row who couldn't show respect with even a modest hand clap to these brillant musicians. I wanted to reach through my screen and slap the shit out of the guy! Anyway, thanks again. Without you I would never had experienced this wonderful performance.

Lovely DVD :)
I really love those two albums from ECM records with Rypdal-Vitous-DeJohnette and it's a shame that there's no video with them. I like this trio with Gurtu despite that it's a little bit more rock-oriented, more like Chasers.

The Drummer is Trilok Gurtu he s a Percussion god from India. He plays all kinds of percussion and is sublime (dont take my word for it look him up on youtube...........I agree the guitar and bass is just out of this world.....amazing guitar techniques

Is that Miles Davis Jack Johnson in there too? Great groove. As for good guitarist bad guitarist comments from MrWildcountry, It's easy to judge but anyone that cuts LP's and tours and makes music their life, I'll take my hat off to. Anyone can play guitar in their bedroom!

Great video. Perhaps my favorite all time live trio performance. You know you can buy the DVD for less than $20 of the whole show. It's from the Jazz Open in Stutgardt '94. Everyone shines on this. The DVD is called Trio Live. Amazon and many others have it.
