John from http://www.discountjuicers.com compares the Omega 8006 and Omega VRT 350 Juicers. They are both single auger juicers. The 8006 is the same as the 8004 is a horizontal single auger juicer and the VRT350 HD is a vertical single auger juicer. Find out which one is best for you in this presentation.

  • Hey John, great videos - I think I've watched about 30 or 40 so far! LOL. I'm trying to decide between the VRT and the 8004. On one hand you recommend the 8004 if juicing primarily leafy greens, and on the other hand recommend making juices only about 25% greens. 25% doesn't seem like "primarily" to me. Wouldn't that indicate the VRT is better overall?

  • 25% is not primary in my opinion, so I would choose the VRT. That being said, there are pros and cons to each unit. In this video:

I compare the two machines fairly well with my suggestions.

  • Someone told me that these omegas like the omega 8006 turns soft fruits like apples and pears into baby food. Is this true?

  • Yes. that is true, if you use the blank plate. If you use the juicing screen and have soft/old produce, it will make more of a puree than a juice. Firm produce works best. A cider press is the best juicer for apples and pears if that is what you want to juice.

  • Can the Omega Vrt 350 be used for nut butters with the larger holed screen? I am overall drawn to the Vrt but I do intend to lead a primarily living foods lifestyle and would rather not have to buy multiple juicers to accomplish my goals. I love your videos btw, thank you for making them.

  • Yes, it CAN make nut butters, but I do not recommend it. Its not designed for that task. Please see:

for my recommendations for a juicer for someone on living foods.

  • I have juiced citrus with the 8004 with the skin on, handles it fine.

  • Every juicer has its pros and cons. I would encourage you to watch this video, which may help you decide which juicer would be best for your needs.

  • Yes, it does. All juicers will produce some level of foam. The amout of foam a juicer makes may be a criteria for you when selecting a juicer. Watch my videos and observe how much foam is generated with each model with each produce item. In general, I Strain all my juices when I drink them, the strainer catches most of the foam.

  • Omega 8003--80006 is the best choice period!
