@eddthefuck LOL! Bow down to the might of the British Empire? Rule Brittania? In my country, since 1776, not so much.

Who tamed this land? The brave enough to endure the hardships of this beautiful country at the bottom of Africa. Only FARMERS=BOER had the knowledge and courage to create something out of nothing. And fight the English (twice) to sustain the explorers of the "new" world.Nl, Fr,Gr etc, contributed, earning the name "BOER", mixing cultures, best practises, and language, inorder to survive.... EARNING the name BOER!! So...call yourself a "Boer" if your ancestors were here more than 250 years ago

The Boer people are only about 34 % of the total White Afrikaans speaking population. The reporter Jan Stürmann noted that the Boer population stand at 1.5 million. Out of a total White Afrikaans population of approx 3.5 million. He noted within the article that many Boers do not see themselves as Afrikaners. Theuns Cloete of Boervolk Radio noted on a shortwave radio interview that the Afrikaners stole the heritage of the Boers. This is significant because it subverts Boer self determination.

The term Cape Dutch was coined by the Trekboers to describe the folks they left behind at the western Cape region whom Professor Wallace Mills noted were DIFFERENT from the Boers of the frontier. Not all White Afrikaans speaking South Africans were or are Boers! There have always been far MORE Cape Dutch Afrikaans speakers than Boers. The Boers developed & emerged on the Cape frontier during the late 17th cent. This bifurcation led to the emergence of TWO White Afrikaans speaking peoples.

The statistics on the Cape Dutch population versus the Boer population bear this out. THAT is where I get "my info from". There were & still are more Cape Dutch descendents than Boer descendents. Further: notable leaders like D F Malan & Hendrik Verwoerd were not from the Boer population [ Malan was from the Cape Dutch & Verwoerd was from the Dutch of the Netherlands ] . Further note: the Cape Boers of the frontier are not part of the Cape Dutch.

You should of just bowed down to the might of the British empire then shouldn't you. And what about the genocide you boers carried out when you took out your commandos and exterminated the san peoples of the kalahari, oh and the zulus. Rule Brittania.

@VigisKane True say. The ANC, a party revered as 'tolerant' has a youth leader who preaches that whites should be exterminated. Disgusting, and shameful. But it's okay to preach hate against people if they're white...
Just one problem: the Boers did not run South Africa & the notion that they ever did stems from the mythology of the Afrikaners who HIJACKED the heritage of the Boers & tried to claim it as their own. The majority of the Afrikaners are not descended from the Boers but in fact from the Cape Dutch. The pro British folks who WORKED against Boer self determination. The Boers tried to restore their Boer Republics during the 1940s but were PREVENTED by the Afrikaner establishment in control.

"The British held thousands of Boer women and children in the first ever concentration camps" (sic) Is not accurate, the first concentration camps were established in Cuba as early as 1895, by the Spaniard Governor General Valeriano Weyler y Nicolau, Marquis of Tenerife. Cuban women and children starved to death on those "Re-concentration camps" spread out all over the island. ( Cuba's war for independence 1895 to 1898)
