Ingredients:
Basic bread dough
1 pound ground beef or lamb
2 diced onions.
Salt ,pepper & Allspice

1 Tablespoon Cardamom
3 tablespoons tomato paste
Oil
1/2 cup pine nuts
Directions:
1- Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Combine meat, onions, and seasonings and cook with little oil until browned fully
2- There are few things that you can add to the meat to flavor it even more, such as adding yogurt or pomegranate molasses or Tihini sauce or tomato sauce. I added tomato paste and mixed it well.
3- Add the pine nuts
4- Cut the dough out to form about 3-4" rounds. Let it rest for 10-15 minutes.
5- Place some of the meat filling onto the dough
6- Place on an oiled baking sheet for and bake at 450 degrees for about 15 minutes. But depending on your oven it might take less or more time.

  • But you burned it

  • @celebratingfantasy , Even burnt, it was delicious! :)

  • Hi,

I once had a recipe where you mix labneh with raw minced meat and some tomatoes, then spread it over the dough. Do you an exact recipe for it?

It helps makes the meat juicy and prevent the dryness of it.

  • @poizonivy , i know this recipe but i do not have it online. the combination of yogurt and tomatos keep the meat moist and flavorful.

Any ideas of the ratio? meat : yogurt: tomatoes?

  • @poizonivy ,for a pound of ground meat ( about half a kilogram) you may add 2 tablespoons of tomato paste or couple of diced fresh tomato. two tablespoons of yogurt would do the job too. hope the recipe works out for you.
