My wife bought me this toy ukulele (Lanikai LU-21p). So I should at least learn one song on it. :)
Israel Kamakawiwo'ole's version of Somewhere over the Rainbow.

Many people don't like me calling it a toy. Just to clarify, I referred it as a toy because it's only 50 bucks. Typically you can't expect any musical instruments below $100 to sound good. But this one is actually not bad at all.

I used the following tutorial to learn the song:

This thing is way too small, don't know how to hold it.

  • @50nollieman See the video description. there's a link to a lesson video and you can find chords there.

  • what tuning is this?

  • @Awesomifications

    standard tuning: GCEA

  • what is the strumming pattern here??

  • @ifightforfun27

    D du xudu and repeat

D means down, U means up. x means rest. upper case means quarter notes, lower case means eighth notes.

  • ONLY 12 FRETS !@#$

  • I have a Fender Stratocaster (1500€) , an acoustic guitar cort ( 350€) and a ukulele (80€).

So stop saying ukulele is a toy it's not at all.

  • thank you

  • very nice, thanks for sharing.

  • @imcure I have a 50 dollar one Q_Q

  • The Pineapple might be a cheaper Lanikai Uke, but they make quality instruments. I enjoy the tone you're getting very much. It's a toy in price only. I've heard worse sounding Ukes for 150

  • You should get your hands on a man made uke, the sound is much denser!
