After a long break I'm back with one of the most well loved of the Strike series.

  • A game from "The Edge"? I didn't know U2 were involved... Seriously though, I thought that this made a good effort to try some different things by having missions where you wandered around buildings etc, but it probably won't appeal to those who didn't like the earlier games... My brother loved the games though, and he played this through to completion - much more patience than me...

  • I have a vague memory of being able to exit the chopper. Probably a new feature as I dont think you can do the same in the others.

  • great game, wish they would make another one for XBLA and PSN.

There is a game on the SNES that is exactly like the strike games but with planes insted, you could choose between F15 or that tank destroyer plane, and it was set during the Gulf war. Its was a great game but cant remember the name of it.

  • Possibly Jetstrike?

  • i remember being blown away by desert strike when it first came out..i then went on to buy jungle strike which expanded the game and was also ace. i never played this or soviet strike. was the last one on the saturn only?

  • No it also came out on the Playstation :)

  • I played this when I was 6-7ish and i never got past the first foot mission where you had to board a platform or something..

  • top 5 sega genesis, great great game

  • loved the strike series.....these would make excellent xbox live undated games now....provide they get the controlls right

  • Seems nice, as Snestastic mentioned though it's strange how they never added music during the levels. Played Desert Strike a lot back in the day, I remember finding enough fuel and weapons was always a bugger though. :)
