This is a VERY short video of the first part of the Rachmaninov Piano Concerto Number 2. It's the first few Minutes of an incredibly long piece. Sorry for the bad sound quality as I recorded it from my digital camera, so it had to be short. Enjoy!

  • hey could u tell me where you get the orchestra back music without a piano ??? thanks

you play great ...you should upload the full version

  • It was actually just me playing over the CD with the piano and orchestra. I'm sure the recording of just the orchestra is out there, I just haven't looked.

  • Look into HomeConcert for accompanying you on this piece. There's a great MIDI of the piece by an Italian named Galimberti. It works really well with HomeConcert.

  • @Killua40 google for "music minus one rachmaninoff"

  • @fanofscience24 it's been a year since you posted that, how did it go? lol.

  • I have a CD of this piece without the piano, however playing along with it requires you to match the tempo and feel of the original pianist who has been taken off the recording.I don't find it too hard playing along but my CD of the Rach3 is a lot harder to sync with.

  • I'm not aware of any pianists other than Rachmaninoff himself playing it at that tempo, and I could definitely hear where he wasn't with the recording--it is definitely him with a recording including both pianist and orchestra.

  • this is really good technically (obviously), i'd just say you should take way more time over the opening

  • Next time bump the CD accompaniment with duplicate piano part. Nice job, 7 pages down, 31 to go...
