More video of my Jkson Lister copy running at 550rpm, this time with some fiddling with the governor and nice sound.

  • I like the rubber band between the cam follwers :-)

There are no clones I know of that don't need the bottoms squared. Don't be fooled when the exhaust rotates, It has far more lift and duration, they'll both run out too far if you put a dial gauge on them. JKsons are generally good machines.

  • Hi George. The cam followers were the one thing I needed to fix on this engine from new. When the rubber band trick failed to encourage the inlet lifter to come good, it was a simple fix to remove it and face it, then polish it up. After that, it has never been a worry. The quality control on the rest of the engine was excellent. Now that Steve Hutson at OzlisteroidsDotCom carries so many spares for these engines here in Australia, I'm sure even my sons kids will be generating power with it!

  • bendy,

We may never convince India tappets should be flat, I remember a conversation with Metex Technical Rep who attempted to educate me on tappets.. "Mr. George, tappets go up and down not round and round". The fact is, the Salesmen in the head office try and handle this types of inquire, and they fail miserably.

  • Hi, I think these listeroids cost around £1000, a bit either side.

    They weigh around 800KG.

  • Dauntless, I bought my Metro 6/1 (bigger flywheels and slower RPM than a 8/1) from Sam Crosby for $1300 a couple years ago.

  • Cool, I like it. How much does one of these cost? And what do they weigh roughly?
