11/24/09 - The Coast Guard Academy Boxing Club hosts its first bouts in over sixty years. Boxing was eliminated from the athletic department in 1948, but came back as a club sport in 2002. Led by coaches Tom Barile and Christian Soto and co-captain Gabriel Nelson, the bears welcomed boxers from the U.S. Marine Corps, the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, and the Whaling City Boxing Club. Retired Cmdr.
