Interesting that the fennec knew to avoid and then bite off the stinger first to protect itself. Is that instinctual behavior?

PS for those who are confused: a fennec is not a very large animal; a really fat fennec might weigh 3 lbs (average weight 1.5 lbs for an adult). Saharan scorpions are quite large as you can see from this clip. Fennecs often feast on scorpions and other insects, as well as what little vegetation they canfind in their desert habitat, and they occassionally encounter the meat of a lizard, hare or geboa or other small mammal.

Aha! But of course the fennec got his prey:) and I dedicate this clip to Algeria's Fennecs who just had their own Scorpion dinner on 2012.2.29.
PS Please don't want to take a fennec from its desert home...he/she is NOT domesticated and does not belong in someone's living room. Tahnk you from Fennicus zerda
