Almost three hours of great aviation video on one disk, featuring the aircraft, and other military hardware displayed at Classic Fighters 2005, and including some excellent footage of most of the Omaka-based aircraft.

This is more than 'just an airshow video'! The material certainly highlights the airshow, but also provides lots of great footage, dramatic scenes and interesting info about the aircraft, for people who were not there on the day. Even if you weren't at the show, this is still a great aviation video, and has lots to interest all aviation enthusiasts.

In addition to 128 minutes of airshow footage, this dual-layer disk also includes ten slideshows totallying almost 25 minutes of previously unpublished photographs from the show.

This two hour plus DVD contains:

* Bristol Fighter F2b (incl air-to-air footage)
* Fokker Dr.1 (incl air-to-air footage)
* Halberstadt D.IV
* Airco DH-2 and Airco DH-5
* Pfalz D.III
* Sopwith Camel
* Lockheed Electra L12a Jnr
* Percival 'Piston' Provost
* P-51D Mustang
* Beech Staggerwing
* Chipmunk, Dragon Rapide, Fox Moth and Dragonfly

* World War One ground theatre scenario
* Yak 52 aerobatics

  • @cobrachoppergirl Well, that and Yachting and don't forget that horse racing is "The Sport of Kings."

    The difference between a man and a boy is the price of his toy!

  • I use to like airplanes, until it became painfully clear, its a sport for filthy rich men, and not the rest of us.

  • Greetings from Scotland, Great Vid, love all the (Great War) recreations, Was that Kittyhawks there too ?

  • very nice, hello

  • actually I oversaw the painting of this airfraft, and it was painted thus because there is already an RAF Provost in NZ, there are no Omani marked warbirds worldwide, making it unique, and its chief pilot was seconded to the Omani Airforce in his younger days and saw combat with the Omanis.

    So while you may be offended by the scheme, there are good reasons for it, and none of them are stupid.

  • The Percival Provost on this video used to belong to my father. I'm almost sure of it. He imported it into Australia, then sold it some years later to a fellow in NZ. I don't know who this fellow is, but he did the stupidest thing and painted the plane in camouflage. Although this aircraft type did get painted in those colours, this particular one, WW397 was in it's original colours as it served in England (I think England, don't quote me on this part).
