England did have a lot of injuries during that campaign. If I remember rightly, Gazza, Shearer, Pearce and Ferdinand all missed games during that qualifying series and were major losses at that time.

Polish FA has a contract with Admiral but this contrac was finished and Admiral didnt want get us new equipment. It was very strange situation- Polish footballers were very angry. So- one day before game Andrzej Grajewski(he was one of owners Widzew Lodz after that) to brought kits from Germany and somebadies sewed our logo-White Eagle
