This last account by Ali Ahmida sounds problematic to me. Specifically, it sounds rather strange that he attributes to the Libyan people as a whole the willingness to "open up the economy", to "reform the educational system" etc. Careful choice of words, since these generally mean cutting down on subsidies, privatizing, creating more flexible workforce. Was the "Libyan people" or the Libyan upper social segment which started getting rich that wanted those? False generalization of him I believe.
