EEEPC 701 installed with Customized Vista Ultimate running on 900Mhz Celeron, 512mb Ram and 4gb SSD boots up at an incredible speed versus the newer Inspiron Mini 12, running on 1.6Ghz Atom Processor, 1Gb Ram and 80GB HDD running the same Customized Vista Ultimate. Original Vista Home supplied from Dell only boots up in 4 minutes!

  • Lol if anyone bought an eeepc vrs. the Dell mini 12, because of 4 seconds start up diff.!! ha I dont really know if thats quite important =P Im buying my Dell Mini 12 today and im still excited. Lol il just have to find something to do during that extra 4 sec. =]

  • Thats to show how sluggish the Dell Mini 12 is versus a very old model of EEEPC when the newer models should be better and faster hence it should be money well spent elsewhere. Not only that Dell only gives a measly 3 cells battery for it which is pretty useless. Again the older EEEPC machines will outlast the dell. Dell wins on screensize of course but thats just it. But nonetheless im glad youre excited over your new Dell Mini 12.

  • Does the Dell Mini 12 do Aero?

  • Yep it does :)

  • right... but what about screen real state... you cant even work on a word document on those lil screens...

  • Actually the screen estate is hardly a bother, i do a lot of word work on the screen, i play Diabo 2 on the screens, its installed with GPS so i get Navigation on it, Powerpoint Presentations to my clients and managers goes the same way and out to a bigger projector screen, and for the price? Definitely no complaints on the EEEPC's.

  • xp WINS!!! xD

  • lol your right..but hey actually the dell mini 12 offers a 6 cell with the comp. now, and i believe it was included with mine. Thanks- Ross

  • oh right

  • Thanks for the comments but thats the point starting them NOT at the same time. To show that the slowest will start even faster than the latest even if the latest model ( Dell ) was the first to have been started up!
