I don't want to deal with this car, but maybe someone with the knowledge wants to buy it from me so they can fix it!

  • def ur thermostat my 98 es 3.2l is doing the same

  • still selling it

  • My 02 ES (3.5) needed a thermostat. did it myself, little tough because it's down low. Assuming you have no coolant leaks and the oil isn't contaminated with coolant, it's probably the thermostat. The coolant by the way is the Orange coolant and you need to use distilled water to mix it with. good luck

  • Probably water pump because it has PLASTIC impeller which not last long enough. Overheating may be due to poor coolant circulation.

Week ago I did my changing timing belt and other timing components. I puted water pump with METAL impeller. It cost a little more $ but more reliable. And don't worry about rust (new coolant rust preventive).

Anyway it was long time ago and you probably sold your car already!

  • @vector150 yes sir sounds like you know your stuff just had to replace my radiator in my intrepid because i saw it over heating stopped and fixed it in the parking lot hahaha!

  • @TKOxPITCHBlAk dude just cuz it's over heating doesnt mean the motor is bad!

  • ok one question why the hell dont you simply replace the thermostat or check if the radiator has a leak, the only thing is, if you've driven it to far while its over heated you will have ruined the motor

  • how much horsepower this model have, iv seen one and ill race anything lol

  • If it is overheating that does not mean the motor is bad. And it should be an easy fix things to ask is it using coolant? Is there coolant in the oil or coming out the ex pipes? Are there and leaks. If that motor has a leak 2 things will happen one loose to much coolant it will over heat not enough cooling system pressure it will over heat. Are the fans coming on? Has the car ever went into limp-in mode. If the pcm is back it will over heat.

  • dare say itd be the water pump, 3.5 s are known for this ive had to change mine at 112k timeing belt as well, not to big of a deal ,nice ride tho,2 grand?....... I'd do it
